Zurich weekend breaks

Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland is situated by Lake Zurich and offers a relaxed atmosphere for weekend breaks. As with many cities the old town, in the city center, is one of the main attractions with it's narrow 16th century streets, guildhalls and fountains. Shopping in Zurich is high brand designer wear, jewellery and watches but even if you can't stretch your budget, a weekend spent window shopping is wonderful! The Schipfe area is known for arts and crafts and offers more relaxed shopping. Zurich has many pedestrianised areas, with street side cafes, bars and restaurants, plus lake and river walks, perfect for relaxing on weekend breaks. Tourist attractions in Zurich range from the Grossmunster Cathedral, churches, museum and galleries to the Lindt chocolate factory and museum (tasting breaks included!). This year several of the UEFA Euro 2008 Football championship matches will be played in Zurich at the Letzigrund Stadium, the final being held in Vienna.

Zurich flights land at Zurich Airport where trains leave every ten minutes for the 10 minute rail trip to the city center.
