Malta breaks and short holidays
Valletta weekend breaks or a short Malta holiday packages in 2010, two choices on one Island! Valletta, the capital of Malta, is simply wonderful, from the old city with stunning views from the Barracca gardens over the 3 harbours (take a short boat tip round them, fascinating), to the splendour of St John's Cathedral or the history of the Lascaris War Rooms. Out of Valletta, places to visit in Malta are Mdina, the "silent city" and nearby, at Ta' Qali, the Malta Crafts village situated in old WW2 nissan huts and the Aviation Museum, see the Mosta dome, the quaint fishing village of Marsaxlokk and on long weekend breaks take a day to visit the Island of Gozo, stunning! You can take a full day coach tour of Malta or, better still, hire a car on your short breaks in Malta, like the UK, they drive on the left (well, most of them!!). Looking at Malta holiday resorts, Sliema is next to Valletta and merges into Kappara then on to St Julians which is before St George’s bay with its sandy beach and luxury hotels. Further along the coast of Malta we find the quiet resort of Qawra and its busier neighbor Bugibba and St Paul’s Bay, a haven for lovers of water sports.
Malta flights land at Malta (Luqa) International Airport where there is a bus service leaving every 20 to 30 mins for Valletta city center (journey time approx 30 mins).
